It proudly promotes Ethiopian hospitality through a variety of dishes, ethnic dance, and music. The owner, Ato Tizazu Kore, comes from the Gurage ethnic group, where the word “YOD” means “witness or speak out.” Moreover, Ethiopia and the area presently known as the Horn of Africa were both known as “Abyssinia” in ancient times.

Brilliant night of Ethiopian culture
We thoroughly enjoyed our night Yod Abyssinia! The entertainment was brilliant, as was the atmosphere. You felt you were getting a real taste (literally and figuratively!) of Ethiopian culture. The food was also delicious and the staff were friendly. We’d recommend a visit

The meal was really good I usually prefer to take my Indian friends who visit Addis to this place because this is a place where one can understand the deep culture of Addis and Ethiopia. The restaurant offers not only food but also a wonderful memory. The performers make people dance and sing and most Ethiopian families gather here during the weekends. I suggest this place if you want to feel the vibe of local culture and delicious food.
